Influences and shapes in the debut collection are taken from casual and luxury sportswear, European vacations resorts and the elegant 70’s, which permeate the collection by embracing high quality and timeless design. The founder’s separate backgrounds form an ideal combination; Kling bringing expertise from her acclaimed personal style site and Lindman with a profound branding and marketing background from his prior position at advertising firm Baron & Baron and current status as Art Director at Interview Magazine. ”We have put a lot of thought into the woman who is wearing Totême. It is important that the collection is conformed and adapted to her life regardless where she is situated. We are very interested in the notion “luxury” and what it means for the consumer. We believe that luxury is all about time and leisure” says Art Director and co-founder, Karl Lindman. The first collection consists of a handful carefully assembled pieces including effortless and breezy knit dresses, sporty and sophisticated polo shirts, linen trousers and shirt as well as luxury cashmere pullovers. The first collection includes a range of eighteen ready-to-wear pieces along with the perfect vacation accessories; a Jacquard- woven beach towel with the Totême monogram along with a pair of beach-sandals. ”I wanted to create a brand that challenges my own style. The design of Totême is based on a woman perfectly relaxed yet chic during her leisure time.
